Hope Fire Company is located in Central Pennsylvania on the Clearfield/Centre county line. During summer of 1887, the citizen's of Philipsburg decided to form a steam fire company.

Protecting life and property for 125 years is a great accomplishment and August 6th of this year the Reliance Fire Company No. 1 will reach that milestone.

The Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District is on the borders of Clearfield and Centre counties. It is comprised of approximately 2,000 students and 300 employees in three elementary schools (K-6), a junior high school (7-8) and a senior high school (9-12).

The Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation that was formed in 1988. The purpose of the Partnership is to further economic development of the Moshannon Valley in order to relieve existing unemployment by purchasing, owning, selling, leasing, remodeling, and repairing properties to provide industrial sites, housing units, and other facilities which will further the economic development and welfare of the community.

The Main Street Program is a national comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization. The program is operated in Philipsburg by the Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation. The Main Street Approach looks at downtown revitalization through the eyes of four standing committees: Organization, Design, Economic Restructuring, and Promotion. The Main Street Program is administered nationally by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center. The Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation is a member of both of these organizations. Each member of the Board of Directors of the Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation, and the Main Street Manager have been trained in the Main Street Approach by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center.
