Brush and Yard Waste Pick up - The Borough crew will be returning to pick up brush and yard waste every Monday, unless other duties interfere. Please stack limbs and brush in one direction. Bags and cans should not weigh over 40 lbs. Containers contaminated with animal feces or garbage will not be picked up. Yard waste should be placed on the resident's property near the street. Do not place items on the street, sidewalks, or islands between Borough streets, or in back yards. If you haul the items yourself to the Yard Waste Recycling Facility, please do not mix limbs with the leaves and grass. Also, do not dump construction debris or garbage. Littering is illegal and will be enforced.
Sewer Billing - Your sewer bill is now being done by the Borough. The sewer billing clerks hours are 8am until 4:00 P.M. Payment will also be accepted after those hours. The Borough is now offering Automatic payment for your Sewer Bill. No Fee and Convenient.
Street Sweeping - Residents are advised that there is no set schedule for sweeping. If residents plan to rake and/or sweep the anti-skid from the front of their property, it should not be placed in piles or contain sticks and twigs. The sweeper is not capable of picking up sticks, twigs, leaves or dirt piles.
Ordinance Enforcement - The Borough has Ordinance Enforcement Officers who handle enforcement of ordinances ranging from parking violations to dilapidated and dangerous buildings. Without ordinance enforcement, illegally parked vehicles would block driveways, intersections and fire hydrants. Absentee landlords would allow buildings to deteriorate to the point of being hazardous to the residents or pedestrians passing by. Ordinances are not designed to harass people or drive out businesses. They are necessary to maintain order and to keep our community clean and safe.
